Lauren is a practitioner of Acupressure and Shiatsu, which are forms of Asian Bodywork Therapy that balance the body's energy or "Qi" on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level. Lauren graduated from the Acupressure Therapy Institute and is a Certified Practitioner (CP) of Acupressure and Shiatsu by the American Organization of Bodywork Therapies of Asia (AOBTA) as well as a Diplomate of Asian Bodywork Therapy with The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Her background includes more than 20 years experience as a Human Services Professional working with vulnerable populations, including adults and children who have or have experienced developmental disabilities, mental illness, homeless, and trauma.
“I came to study Acupressure and Shiatsu after my own health was remarkably transformed though Oriental Medicine. At the time I worked with adults and children who were experiencing the effects of mental illness, homelessness, developmental disabilities and, trauma. I had many opportunities to see how mental, emotional and physical health are intertwined and how we can get stuck in a cycle of illness, instability and stagnation.
As my Asian Bodywork practice has grown, I found myself going through my own positive life transformation, which informed and encouraged me to help others with their own development. I have found it especially rewarding to offer support and guidance to people who are undertaking their own significant life challenges and transformations.
Experience has taught me that when you bring the right people into your life, you create a dynamic and interdependent team from which positive outcomes flow. I hope you will come and experience this ancient art of balancing the body’s system!”
