BODY AND MIND
How Acupuncture Supports a Calmer Nervous System
In Chinese medicine, emotional and physical health are closely connected. We look at the whole picture: your sleep, digestion, energy and what's going on in your life. Then we build a plan to help you feel more settled.
Research on acupuncture for anxiety is growing, and many patients feel calmer, more centered, and experience better sleep.

We talk it through
You rest
Your health history, how stress is showing up for you, and what you're hoping for.
We check your pulse and tongue, two of the ways Chinese Medicine reads the whole picture.
You rest comfortably with fine, sterile, single-use needles in place. Most people find it deeply relaxing, and many fall asleep.

QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions
Can acupuncture help with stress and anxiety?
Yes, acupuncture can be a helpful way to manage stress and anxiety by encouraging relaxation and supporting nervous system regulation. Research suggests it may help reduce anxiety symptoms, improve sleep, and ease physical symptoms of stress, such as muscle tension and headaches. Treatment is tailored to your individual needs, with the goal of helping you feel more balanced and resilient.
What can I expect during my acupuncture treatment for stress & anxiety?
Your treatment will be tailored to your individual needs and may include acupuncture points throughout the body to encourage relaxation and ease tension. Many patients find the experience deeply calming, and some even fall asleep during treatment. Our goal is to create a quiet, supportive space where you can slow down, unwind, and leave feeling more grounded.
How many appointments will I need?
It depends on what you're experiencing and how long it's been going on. Many patients begin with treatments once or twice weekly for 4–6 weeks, then gradually space visits out as they begin to feel more balanced. We'll discuss a treatment plan that makes sense for you at your first visit.
Does acupuncture hurt?
Acupuncture needles are extremely fine, much thinner than those used for injections. Most people feel little to no discomfort, though you may notice a brief pinch, dull ache, or heavy sensation when a needle is placed. If you're nervous about needles, just let us know. We'll take things slowly and adjust your treatment to help you feel comfortable.
Can I keep seeing my therapist and taking my medication?
Absolutely. Acupuncture can complement therapy, medication, and other forms of mental health care. Research suggests that acupuncture may offer additional benefits when used alongside conventional treatments for anxiety, helping to reduce symptoms and support overall well-being. We encourage you to continue working with your existing healthcare providers and never change or discontinue medication without consulting your prescriber.
How much does it cost and do you accept insurance?
A new patient visit is $130 and follow-up visits are $95. We don’t currently accept insurance. Many health plans’ HSA or FSA accounts can be used for acupuncture; check with your plan.
Where are you located?
We’re at 681 Falmouth Road, Suite B23, in Mashpee, MA 02649, on the upper level of Deer Crossing. We’re easy to reach from Falmouth, Sandwich, Cotuit, Osterville, Barnstable and Bourne.
